Overview

What is ISO 14001:2015 certification? Benefits of applying ISO 14001 in enterprises

ISO 14001:2015 certification is a set of environmental management standards designed to identify, manage, and control environmental aspects related to industrial and commercial activities.

Benefits of applying ISO 14001:2015

Enterprises are facing increasing pressure from customers, governments, and regulatory authorities to reduce their environmental impact. Achieving ISO 14001:2015 certification is the clearest way to demonstrate an organization’s commitment to these objectives.

Below are the key benefits of ISO 14001:2015 certification:

In terms of environmental management:

Environmental management activities are standardized in a professional and comprehensive manner. Enterprises proactively control and ensure compliance with environmental legal requirements. Prevent risks and losses caused by environmental incidents. Enhance environmental awareness among employees.

In terms of legal aspects:

ISO 14001:2015 certification builds trust among regulatory authorities regarding the enterprise’s compliance with environmental laws. In some business sectors that have environmental impacts, ISO 14001 certification may be required according to legal regulations. ISO 14001 certification is often a concern when enterprises wish to become partners of foreign companies, as environmental protection is a top priority for them. It also creates goodwill among customers and surrounding communities and helps avoid environmental complaints.

In terms of economic aspects:

Establish a database to calculate and reduce the use of resources, raw materials, and input energy, thereby improving the efficiency of production and service processes. Minimize costs arising from waste treatment and enable resource reuse. Avoid penalties due to violations of environmental legal requirements. Reduce environmental tax expenses. Improve workforce efficiency as employees’ health is better protected in a safe working environment.

ISO 14001:2015 certification is part of a series of international standards related to environmental management applicable to all types of business organizations worldwide. It is built on the Plan – Do – Check – Act (PDCA) principle.

The ISO 14001:2015 version specifies the most important requirements for identifying, controlling, and monitoring environmental aspects of organizations, including methods for managing and continuously improving the entire system.

ISO 14001:2015 certification builds confidence among customers, investors, the public, and communities by demonstrating an organization’s commitment to environmental responsibility; improves cost control through savings in raw materials and energy sources; reduces risks and legal liabilities; and creates a foundation for obtaining domestic business licenses.
