This project is developing a comprehensive set of national standards for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). It includes recommendations for legal frameworks and institutional mechanisms to boost BESS safety, reliability, and efficiency. The project has completed a study analyzing current regulations and proposing new standards. A finalized list of these standards will be delivered after review by government and private sector stakeholders. Ultimately, this will facilitate the growth of the BESS sector, aligning with Power Development Plan 8, improving grid reliability, fostering industry development, and supporting renewable energy integration.
