QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN

Technical Regulation QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN specifies the limit levels for technical parameters and quality management requirements for lubricating oils used for internal combustion engines (including lubricating oils used for 4-stroke and 2-stroke internal combustion engines).

Technical Regulation QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN does not apply to lubricating oils for internal combustion engines used for national security and defense purposes.

Internal Combustion Engine Lubricants Must Obtain Conformity Certification under QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN

On May 15, 2018, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality submitted for approval and issued, under Circular No. 06/2018/TT-BKHCN of the Minister of Science and Technology, the National Technical Regulation QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN, which specifies limit values for technical indicators and quality management requirements for lubricants used in internal combustion engines.

Lubricant Certification in Compliance with QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN

Given the prevalence of counterfeit and poor-quality internal combustion engine lubricants, consumers are often uncertain which brands to trust. Consequently, the involvement of State management agencies is vital to verifying and affirming product quality.

Benefits of Lubricant Conformity Certification according to QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN

Pursuant to the Technical Regulation QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN for internal combustion engine lubricants, effective from February 30, 2018, all products within the scope of this Regulation must undergo Conformity Certification and Declaration of Conformity as required.

Certification Process for Lubricant Conformity under QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN

Conformity certification for internal combustion engine lubricants under QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN involves testing, evaluating, and verifying that product quality, goods, services, processes, and environments comply with the national technical regulation QCVN 14:2018/BKHCN.

Responsibilities of Organizations and Individuals in QCVN 14 Certification

As the goods market expands, numerous brands have emerged, including within the lubricant sector. However, quality management remains inconsistent. To combat the prevalence of counterfeit and adulterated products, proactive involvement from regulatory authorities is essential to ensure product quality and safety.
