Distinguishing Natural Mineral Water and Bottled Drinking Water under QCVN 6-1:2010/BYT Certification
How are natural mineral water and bottled drinking water under QCVN 6-1:2010/BYT distinguished from ordinary drinking water?
Water products are clearly differentiated from other common drinking water by:
- Containing specific levels of mineral salts with defined proportions, along with trace elements or other components;
- Being extracted directly from natural sources or boreholes tapping underground aquifers within protected zones to prevent contamination or external impacts on physical and chemical quality;
- Maintaining stable composition, flow rate, and temperature regardless of natural fluctuations;
- Being extracted under conditions ensuring initial microbiological purity and chemical integrity of characteristic components;
- Being bottled at the source under strict hygienic conditions and only treated using one or a combination of the following methods, provided they do not alter the essential composition of the mineral water compared to the source:
- Removal of unstable elements and compounds containing iron, manganese, sulfide, or arsenic through decantation and/or filtration, and where necessary, rapid aeration;
- Removal or addition of carbon dioxide;
- Sterilization using ultraviolet radiation.
